from third grade through high school graduation, my childhood was spent in a small central indiana town called zionsville.  it’s one of the most visually idyllic places one can imagine being raised in the midwest – an antique shop filled downtown with a brick main street.  vintage cottages and bungalows both line main street and are present throughout the ‘village area’ of zionsville.  there are other outlying areas of the town – some rural and beautiful and some filled with modern subdivisions.  z’ville has grown exponentially since i lived there.  however, the town has managed to keep a thriving little main street area – which is difficult these days but so worth it.  here are some photos of main street and the village.  it still looks like very much like the same place in which we used to ride our bikes into town for ice cream…
