on the southwest side of indianapolis, there’s a fabulous little arts district named ‘fountain square’.   named after a little square in the center of the area that features a fountain (one of several that have graced the square over the years), it’s a recently rehabbed neighborhood with tons of history, personality, vitality and mid-century style appeal.  many of the buildings are being brought back into good repair in a way that fits with the time period of the buildings themselves and also in a manner which creates cohesion and give the district an overall laid back vibe with open arms to both visitors and new businesses and arts-related endeavors.  one of these endeavors has been the wheeler arts community – a thriving live/work space for low-income artists and also studio space for city university students.  many other buildings house living and/or working space as well.  a great little community-
