my new favorite locally owned place for brunch and coffee in greater indianapolis.  i could write several paragraphs but the links to reviews tell the story.  (indianapolis monthly 1, indy monthly 2 and indy monthly 3) one of my favorite aspects of the cafe is that it was conceived by a graphic designer – who loves to cook but is not a professional chef.  he planned the place out in his mind for years before finally bringing it to fruition.  it’s a fabulous addition to the restaurant scene on the north side.  they’re found online at www.eggshellbistro.com.  oh – and major swooning over the vintage gaggia machine.  one of the most beautiful pieces of cooking machinery i’ve every seen.  and the kyoto brewed coffee… fantastic.
